I joined Young Connected after I met Kaat and Wing where I work, Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations. In September, we had a meeting about their participation in our Conference as speakers, and they invited me to a rehearsal. I had no idea what to expect, I thought I would only attend others but ended up being apart of it.
I am my grandmother because.. I share her deeply emotional and open-hearted spirit, living each moment to the fullest, diving into dark waters with courage, and unapologetically expressing who I am.
Often people feel it’s impossible to switch directions, blind to the numerous paths around them on their route. Unable to believe they can escape the already known, feeling trapped in their past instead of using the present for a new future. We in fact have the power to walk a million different paths until we find ourselves. We have the power to transform, redefine the self again and again, mold it into different shapes until we find the one that fits. And that is the remarkable ability of human nature to continuously grow and change.
Allow yourself to transform, to reinvent the I in your identity until it shines the colors that feel the most authentic.
Important questions: What are the next steps into making yourself happier? How can you show yourself more love, kindness and less harsh criticism? What are the next steps into putting yourself first, becoming the protagonist of your own story?
My message for STOF: Don’t be scared to walk a myriad paths until you find your route. Changing doesn’t mean betraying who you are.
